It is true that infamous wide receiver Terrell Owens is currently without a team to play for as he recovers from a surgery he underwent during the offseason and the NFL lockout. While he may technically be unemployed, the professional athlete -- known for his more than outgoing nature and off-field antics - does not have a shortage of cash.

Even people with much more wealth than the average person seem to have trouble keeping up on court ordered child support payments. Owens finally paid up on his past due child support payments this month after he was threatened with jail time for non-compliance. Owens wrote a check this month for $10,000, the amount owed to the mother of his child for two months worth of support.

This is not the first time that Owens has had some trouble making the payments on time pursuant to the order issued by the court in May of 2007. Owens appeared before a judge this past July requesting a modification to the support order. He claimed that the NFL lockout had caused financial hardship and requested that the amount be reduced to $2,500 per month. The judge rejected his argument and Owens was forced to pay the ordered $5,000 per month for the two months of June and July. As a part of the settlement, Owens also paid attorneys fees.

According to the suit filed by the mother, despite being "unemployed," the wide receiver brings in at approximately $666,000 per month for his participation in his own reality series aired on VH-1.
